Interview with Dr. Carsten
What have I learned the most from?
From intense experiences of failure and helplessness. And from surprising experiences of success when I accidentally or out of necessity did not follow my usual pattern.
Why did I become a trainer / consultant?
Because I have seen incredibly good role models. Because I was deeply personally touched by the impact of good training work and told myself, "I want to be able to do that too!". And because I felt that as a trainer/consultant, one can improve the world :-).
Which project is waiting to be realized?
In the long term: A book full of joy to write.
What is particularly close to my heart?
My sons Tom and Ben, their happiness, their security, their development.
Who / what can I not stand at all?
Actually, I can get along with anyone (except for the extreme cases...). The question is usually whether I want to. I find it exhausting and/or unfulfilling to be with argumentative people who mainly complain and take little personal responsibility. If that is also combined with a lot of devaluation of others, then I withdraw. As a coach and consultant, I often can't do that so easily and then, thank God, after a few meetings, I almost always find that behind such a facade lies a lovable and vulnerable being.
