LIFO® Behavioral Model Build on your strengths.
The LIFO® behavioral model was developed in the 1960s in the United States by Alan Katcher and Stuart Atkins. It has its roots in humanistic psychology. Erich Fromm, for example, proposed the idea that weaknesses are merely the flip side or shadow side of our strengths when we overdo them or fail to use them appropriately in a given situation. The LIFO® model posits that flexibility in behavior is important and must be appropriate to the situation and role at hand in order to be successful.
Carl Rogers proposed the idea that empathy and appreciation form the foundation for genuine change. Therefore, it is not about right or wrong behavior, but rather the question: How do I feel about my behavior and its consequences - for example, the impact I have on others? How successful do I feel as a result? What feedback do I receive regarding my impact?
The model distinguishes four different behavioral styles. Every person has their own individual strengths profile, which shows which styles they prefer to use in which situations.
How can I use the LIFO® method?
German-language questionnaires for self-assessment and peer assessment are available on the following topics:

The questionnaires are completed and can be evaluated using a simple scoring system. When interpreting the results, support from a certified LIFO® analyst is necessary and recommended. Please contact us.
