Plan carefully, moderate dynamically.

Every successful facilitation begins (long) before the actual session: with clarifying the mandate. That much is well known. What is largely unknown, however, is that a thorough clarification of the mandate also includes the “hidden” mandates. Just like an onion, which consists of several layers, we usually find a whole series of (actual, important) concerns behind the original mandate. Or an entirely different mandate. We want to get to the bottom of it! Because then we can design a workshop with you that is (almost) guaranteed to lead to success. Your team is usually happy to go along with it when you and we proceed transparently and openly, without a “hidden agenda.”

Janus facilitation is dynamic: Our facilitators are adept at handling (they actually love it!) situations where different interests clash, where some are already focused on solutions while others still want to refine the topic or are dissatisfied with the overall situation. However, our willingness to truly consider everything that contributes to a viable and shared solution sometimes leads to surprising developments and unexpected outcomes. Are you in?

Yes, and if it becomes clear during the scope clarification (which would be ideal) or only during the facilitation (not so ideal) that the issue isn’t really about the matter at hand but rather about the relationships within the team, then we recommend team development or conflict counseling. Let’s talk!
