- To what extent does all this affect us at all?
- Do we have to do something (now)?
- What good ideas are there in other companies?
Some companies are already “right in the middle” of the issues and are addressing them as a matter of course. Others have the feeling that it is all still a long way off and far too vague (AI) or that it will somehow “jolt itself together” (intergenerational dialog).
At Janus, we are (as always) making our own experiences and tackling these questions with a great deal of curiosity and creative ideas. Because we are convinced that good and proactive solutions will make a big difference in the near future. Why? Because generative AI is having and will continue to have a very real and rapid impact on our everyday work. And there are many different reasons why the different generations in companies are being called upon to talk to each other about expectations, needs and knowledge management more than ever before. In general, by the way, and not just in connection with AI.The retention of excellent specialists of all ages will (also) depend crucially on these topics in the coming years.
Goals
With our Barcamp, we are creating an agile forum in which different players (managers and HR staff from companies, Janus consultants or other external consultants) can network, support each other and learn from each other. It is an open workshop format that thrives on the diversity of topics and questions of the participants. Each participant has the opportunity to contribute questions, concerns or practical examples as well as to provide their own expertise and experience on specific topics.
The barcamp framework offers plenty of room for co-creation and self-determined learning with and from each other. This is made possible by an intelligent design that combines plenary sessions, many parallel workshop slots and breaks for exchange and networking. And in a very practical way via video conference at your own workplace.
Contents and Guiding Questions
All topics and concerns relating to the main topics are welcome. Regardless of whether they are still in the approach process or already characterized by concrete experience and advanced knowledge.
Here are some examples of questions:
- “How can I support a good intergenerational dialog in my company? What ideas can help prevent generations from devaluing each other (e.g. “Gen Z stereotypes”, “ageism”) and thus working poorly together?”
- “I would be interested to hear other people's views on how ChatGPT and the like will change everyday working life in teams in the near future! Will this also have an impact on leadership and collaboration?”
- “How do I conduct modern and contemporary job interviews? How do I deal with applicants' expectations?”
- “How do I successfully introduce established employees and managers to the topic of generative AI? How do the generations learn well from each other?”
- “What rules are useful for making generative AI usable in everyday life?”
- “How do we counter the impending loss of knowledge due to the retirement of the boomer generation in the coming years?”
- “What AI assistance functions do young professionals expect in everyday life today? What do we need to be attractive as a potential employer?”
- “I am planning a workshop on topic XY and would like to discuss my concept ideas.”
- “I am involved in a project that deals with “intergenerational dialog” and we are currently facing the following problem, which I would like advice on.”
- “We want to make our management even more aware of the topic of intergenerational dialog. What could that look like?”
- “The topics of sustainable management, resource conservation and dealing with climate change are not only of concern to the younger generation. How do we deal with these issues in our organization - and how can we provide a forum for employees in our organization who want to get involved?
