Goals

There are many training programs for performance and presentation. However, trained gestures and rehearsed facial expressions often appear counterproductive, even irritating. We take a different approach and also consider the development of individual personality. Especially in spotlight and stress situations, many people are plagued by self-doubt, nervousness, and fears. In this seminar, you will learn methods and techniques from leadership psychology and high-performance sports to strengthen your self-confidence and inner stability. We will work intensively on your individual Körpersprache and vocal expressiveness. Because: The more powerful and warmer the voice, the clearer the gestures, the better the physical alignment and stability, the more authentic and self-assured you will appear to others.

Contents and Guiding Questions

Through intensive feedback in different settings, you will reflect on your personal impact in this very varied seminar and work on your individual path to more sovereignty and persuasive power. Numerous exercises will open up new perspectives on your physical and vocal behavior and will focus on areas where you want to make changes. Many of the learned exercises are absolutely practical for everyday use and are specifically helpful before and during any kind of "performance." By working with video feedback, live presentations, and voice recordings, you will strengthen your performance. By reflecting on your inner attitude, you will overcome blockages and increase your presence.

  • Body language – How do I develop stability and firmness in the literal sense? How do I convince through clear gestures and an open posture?
  • Contact – How do I connect with the listening people, my colleagues, the audience?
  • Voice – How do I reach my audience emotionally? How do I expand vocal volume, resonance, and tone?
  • Inner attitude – How convinced am I myself of what I have to say? What is my mission and what blockages hinder my performance?
  • Transfer to everyday life – What is my personal practice program for body and voice?

Feedback from Knut Fritzsche, Agravis Raiffeisen AG, August 2009, on the seminar "Stress and Performance Management"

Dear Peter, dear Ralf, it has now been 5 weeks since the Janus special "Stress and Performance Management" and the course is still having a strong impact. "The idea came up." This was your response to the question of how this Janus special came about. After this course, I can say it was a brilliant idea. The goal of the training is to be able to face various challenges in professional everyday life through the professional use of voice and body. A topic that immediately appealed to me. In the personality-oriented courses, I had already come to appreciate Peter's resource management, while I had only heard about Ralf from other participants. Both trainers, who usually only accompany the Janus courses, now designed the entire course: I arrived with great anticipation... and my expectations were far exceeded. I found the very high practical component, alongside the necessary theoretical input, particularly successful. It is astonishing to me how personal voice and body competence can be improved with such simple exercises. And it was surprising for me to see what had already been achieved in just one week during the course by all participants. A very special offer for me were the individual coaching sessions, where the focus was placed on the personal situation of each individual. Your appreciative and helpful feedback has helped me gain a multitude of impulses for my daily work from this course and I can draw personal benefit from it. Now it is up to me to stay committed and use the toolbox I have taken with me. The exercises presented for the use of voice and body can be easily applied daily. Opportunities for this are always available. The detailed materials distributed to us are also a great help, keeping the exercises fresh in my mind afterwards. I can now continue my experiences in balance training at home as well. Just on the Sunday after the training, I bought the slacklines. Meanwhile, they are installed in my garden (thankfully, there are two suitable trees there) and I am gaining more and more confidence in my balance exercises. With my thanks to you for this course and the experiences gained, I hope that "Stress and Performance Management" will be offered as a standard program at Janus in the future, so that more participants can enjoy this truly successful seminar. Best regards from Hannover, Knut

Feedback from Barbara Wilcke, Commerzbank AG on the Janus special "Stress and Performance Management"

Dear Peter, dear Ralf, your seminar was for me the crowning conclusion of a series of methodological and personality-related Janus seminars. I had already briefly dealt with the topic of voice in the context of the seminar "Personality and Communication," and I was already familiar with Peter's body work from the resource management of a Janus seminar. Therefore, I was very curious about the design and content of the 3 ½ days. My expectations were far exceeded. Apart from the ideal location, we were the only seminar group in Inzell until the last day, and the predominantly good weather, it was simply great to have time for the individual exercises, which were supported by good theoretical explanations. I actually don't want to reveal the individual topics, but it was totally exciting to learn what one can do with a voice, how to do good things for it, and how to change a voice in a short time. The most moving moment for me was reciting poems and texts that everyone could choose from a large selection, and which 'as chance(?) would have it' were very suitable for everyone. The emotion and the emotionality were physically palpable. It was already exhausting to come out of that mood, but we had already learned how important it is to detach from something or to conclude it. The topics of body competencies and the 5-phase performance model were also very exciting and interesting, where Peter really excelled in his presentation. Between the individual topics, physical exercises provided relaxation, not to mention the morning body work that helped us start the day awake and alert. The experiences with balance training were also astonishing. After the first attempt, the band wobbled in all directions, I managed to stand still on it after 3 days without much support and without training. I or my body had literally learned it overnight. A valuable conclusion was the individual coaching sessions we received from both Ralf and Peter. During these, we could address very personal issues and gather feedback and tips that will certainly help us in everyday life. Thank you very much for the great experiences! Barbara
