Whether and how leadership can be effective depends largely on it - in contact with employees as well as in cooperation with colleagues and superiors.
Especially in agile systems and flat hierarchies, it is increasingly crucial to success how leadership can be effective through the power of personality. Because where the formal “power of the epaulettes” no longer applies, leadership becomes a fragile matter of negotiation. Leaders have to show their personal colors: Only those who convince and act convincingly on their own initiative, who know their own power and typical own goals well, will also be receptive to the interests, idiosyncrasies and personalities of others. Only a personality who knows how to use their potential wisely, who has both authority and remains approachable and willing to negotiate, will be willingly and voluntarily joined.

Goals

This seminar is about developing the contours of your own leadership personality and shaping an individual leadership style that is convincing even in difficult contexts. In this seminar, you will examine and reflect on your individual patterns of success as well as your personal “pitfalls” and “pitfalls”. A good knowledge of yourself and a situation-appropriate suppleness in dealing with the differences of others will fundamentally increase your effectiveness in leadership communication.

Contents and Guiding Questions

The theoretical basis of this seminar is transactional analysis. You will get to know your drivers and your deeply rooted beliefs, reflect on your life and leadership script and deal with the characteristics of your personality. We will work both with theoretical models and on personal issues.

  • Personality – What image do I have of myself and how does it differ from the image I have of others?
  • Leadership style – What suits me? What strengths do I perceive in others that I would like to integrate into my leadership style?
  • Ego-states – What are my typical thoughts, feelings and behaviors in leadership situations, especially when things get stressful? How can I change them?
  • My drivers – What inner forces make me strong and sometimes weaken me at the same time?
  • The corporate culture – Which management style suits the culture of my company?

Benefit for your Comapny

After this seminar, your managers will

  • stand up powerfully for themselves and the company's goals,
  • live their leadership style confidently and reflectively,
  • be able to navigate confidently in leadership even without a formal mandate,
  • assess situations realistically and rethink the familiar.

Feedback on the seminar "Personality and Leadership Style" in February 2016 from Dr. Josef Mayer, Baerlocher GmbH, Regulatory Affairs Manager

The participant group allowed for very personal experiences and openness. Very good atmosphere between the trainers and the participants, as well as among the participants themselves. The seminar was very interesting and challenging. I took something away from each topic and description, as well as from the individual, partner, and group work. It contributed significantly to my personal development and helped me find my own leadership style. A very likable and experienced trainer who understood how to advance each participant in their respective goals. He was very successful in building trust within the group, which enabled everyone to work in a good atmosphere and with a good feeling, without fears. Gernot was by far the best trainer I have experienced so far. Very interesting resource management for both body and mind with aspects I was not familiar with before (morning session); very good and appropriate partner/group exercises on trust/leadership (evening sessions); very empathetic and flexible, diverse.

Feedback on the seminar "Personality and Leadership Style" in April 2016 by Wolfhard Kahler, Head of Moderation at Hessischer Rundfunk

I really liked and benefited from the complete detachment from everyday work. I found it very good not to prioritize the thinking models and theory. The pacing and content orientation of the seminar emerged from the participants' topics, which felt like the right approach to me. It was amazing how everyone opened up and shared their "case." It was also remarkable how open everyone was to the stories and issues of others. Additionally, there was a seminar leader who was professional and experienced, yet personally involved. Ms. Erpenbeck seems very experienced but still interested in the stories and problems of the participants. She leans out of the window, sometimes enters into a conflict, and always conveys the feeling that a solution awaits at the end. In doing so, she does not simply echo what others say and may come across as somewhat tough. But I find that rather pleasant. Ms. Forler has done well in the somewhat thankless task of getting couch potatoes to engage in sports and develop a conscious body awareness. Now and then, I had the impression that she wasn't 100 percent sure of herself. But in the end, her lessons were very beneficial to me personally, and I got along well with her style.
