What defines us Our Guiding Principles
Purpose of Janus
Janus serves the targeted further development of people and organizations. So far, so good, so obvious. Two (additional?) aspects are important here:
Firstly, we want to be there for our customers when they need us. As the fox from the Little Prince reminds us, we feel (co-)responsible for the people and organizations that we have become familiar with. We are therefore always available in a crisis.
Secondly, we definitely have our own goals, some would say a mission. And this could be described as subversive (although it is no longer subversive if we disclose it here): We do not consider companies to be an end in themselves, but believe that they have to serve: People and society. We want to (be able to) talk to each other and our customers about what this service consists of in specific cases.
Role of Janus
We are service providers and companions to our clients and customers. What we are not: A vicarious agent. This means that we reflect on the goals and solutions that are presented to us and are prepared to question them constructively. This is sometimes uncomfortable, but usually leads to a good result and deepens good cooperation.
Sometimes it also leads to the end of cooperation.
Personality
We value personality. In our own team, with our consultants and with our clients. A personality always allows itself to live its own style - even with rough edges. For us, having personality means knowing yourself and your limits quite well. They are as honest as possible with themselves and others and remain touchable and impressionable.
We expect movement and a willingness to grow from ourselves and our consultants.
We know that sometimes it is also very exhausting to deal with yourself and others.

Getting to the core and creating clarity
Just as a person gains strength and energy when his heart is touched and he penetrates to his core, an organization also grows when it faces up to its core issues. This is where we achieve the greatest effectiveness and make the greatest contribution to the success of the whole and/or the joy of the individual. This is why our clients ask us time and again: “And what is actually important?”... or variations of this question.
Whether we have got to the heart of the matter is something we notice not only in our hearts but also in our heads: once the actual question has been formulated or the right solution has been found, there is sudden clarity.
Contact and Conflict
When things get heated, sensitive questions are (or have to be) asked or taboo subjects are addressed, you need to be in good contact - with yourself and with others. Stability is also important. We support our clients in connecting with themselves and with each other, building courage and trust, appreciating and respecting each other. At the same time, it is about resolving conflicts and agreeing on common paths that are viable for all parties. Sometimes it is also about learning to perceive difficult and stressful situations and to endure them, to sound out one's own scope and limits, combined with the question: How can I take good care of myself in all of this?
In this way, we remind our clients and ourselves again and again that we can only be effective and successful in the long term if we are strong.
Entrepreneurial success
Entrepreneurial success is more than just economic success. We are proud of what we have created: The market position we have achieved, the values we live by at Janus, our solidarity with one another, the (extensive) enjoyment of our work and the passion with which we tackle the tasks and challenges facing our clients and ourselves. We want to create growth for our clients.
This also means: enjoyment in and of our work, a passion to learn and develop, people who achieve goals together and values that we stand behind.
Exploring boundaries
In our events - seminars, workshops, coaching sessions, team and organizational development - boundaries are explored in a sociable way. Something new usually emerges and a new path becomes visible. This is not magic, but for us the simple result of taking joyful steps together in unfamiliar territory. And we ourselves are not standing above or beside it, but are right in the middle of it. We are not theorizing here. Because Janus has gone through numerous changes in its corporate history and is constantly changing.
Our boundaries are gradually being pushed further. This is an important part of our growth.
Finding effective paths
There are always several ways. We want to take effective paths together with our clients. That is why we spend a lot of energy and time clarifying the assignment. And we do not accept or return assignments if we believe, know or feel that we cannot be effective in this way.
Or we recommend taking a step first. Because paths often only open up when you walk.
