Skillset for effectiveness...

If you want to advise others effectively and professionally, you primarily need three skills. And they will develop these three skills, which could also be called meta-competencies, in themselves and their “clients”. (Interesting fact in passing: This is also and precisely why advisors and advice seekers are always learners together. At eye level).

  • Self-awareness: The ability and willingness to understand one's own world of perception and experience (“What makes me tick?”) and to view it as both unique and highly subjective, i.e. worthy of questioning. The certainty that one's own perspective is more correct and more important than that of others and could even be decisive for others is replaced by a great sense of wonder at the diversity of human worlds of experience and certainties. Often coupled with the urge to really explore and understand how others function ...

  • Self-acceptance: The ability and willingness to accept yourself - truly - as you are, with all your strengths, talents, limitations, contradictions and longings. Even one's own behaviours, which are sometimes experienced as dysfunctional, are then acknowledged for the first time.

...and a mature personality

We see this as a prerequisite for dealing with others in a similarly compassionate and (only then) professional manner.

  • Behavioral variability: The ability and willingness to consciously act differently in different situations and in contact with very different people. Instead of following the same learned patterns over and over again to little effect.
Depending on how you possess these three meta-competencies, you are largely at peace with yourself and can build sustainable relationships and work empathetically and professionally at the same time. What you then need: A suitable set of coaching methods for different issues and problem situations. The sequence is important to us: personal development comes first and then the tools. Because: A fool with a tool is still a fool! Anyone who has completed the Janus course should not be a “tooligan” (Gunther Schmidt), but a mature personality.

We therefore attach great importance to the protected, courageous and humorous confrontation with oneself. Personality development is therefore an important and integral part of the coaching course.

Personality & Methodology

Two personality seminars from the Janus program are mandatory, one of them in any case Group Dynamics - You can't beat it.

However, the other personality seminars are also suitable on a case-by-case basis, and we will of course be happy to advise and support you in your selection:
You will also attend the two methodological seminars Methodology of Individual Coaching and Methodology of Team Coaching. You decide on the sequence together with the head of the course, Jasmine Harde, or in consultation with Tine Gasser. The prerequisite for participation is that you have completed a personality seminar at Janus.

Supervision & Graduation

In three supervision sessions, you will reflect on your experiences as a coach and consultant and receive supervision. The focus here is on practical learning, case work and peer-to-peer exchange to ensure that the transfer of the content you have learned into practice is simple and easy and that you gain the necessary confidence for different coaching situations as quickly as possible. You have the option of additional supervision at any time.

You will complete the course as part of the final supervision. To this end, you will submit a written assignment in advance on a topic that you have discussed and agreed with the course director during one of the previous supervisions and then carry out a live sequence described in your assignment on site. You do not have to acquire your own clients; in the supervisions, you and all other course participants work with each other or with live clients who are recruited via Janus. You will receive your certificate upon successful completion of the program in your final supervision.

Comprehensive advice and support before and during the course is very important to us, because the specific course of study is as individual as our participants. Choose the dates from our range that best suit your schedule! In most cases, the duration of the course of study until graduation is between 1.5 and 2 years.
