Goals

In this seminar, you will say goodbye to the idea that conflicts can be avoided. Perhaps you will increasingly see how useful and invigorating it can be to deal with conflicts not only with yourself, but also with others. In any case, you will learn that everyone deals with conflict in their own way and that it is helpful to know yourself and your differences. The goal is clarity and sustainable decisions. The basis is respect and appreciation, even in critical situations.

Contents and Guiding Questions

In this seminar, you will learn how to personally deal with conflicts and what this means for your everyday life. You will test and learn alternatives to your previous conflict behavior, and you will expand your range of action when it comes to dealing constructively with different types of conflicts.

  • Conflict styles and conflict types – How differently can one experience and act in conflicts? What type am I? What does this have to do with my life story?
  • Conflict dynamics – How do I create conflicting vicious circles … and how do I get out of them?
  • Conflict strategies – How do I recognize and defuse indirect (manipulative) approaches in myself and others?
  • Inner conflicts – How do they fuel my outer conflicts and how do I recognize and defuse them?
  • Negotiations – How do I ask from a cooperative and consensus-oriented attitude, and how do I create win-win situations?
  • Reframing – How can a change of perspective and creative, refreshing reformulations help with entrenched conflicts?
  • Unresolvable conflicts – How do I recognize them and how do I resolve them?

Excerpt from their feedback on the seminar "KonfliktManagement" in February 2014

I am still drawing from the extensive and profound information from the seminar "KonfliktManagement" in February of this year. What Sabine and Gernot triggered in me continues to resonate to this day and has changed me so sustainably that I (if it wouldn't sound too cheesy) would almost like to speak of a new life/work feeling. Both the methodology and the personalities of the trainers were tailor-made for me.

Feedback on the seminar Conflict Management in July 2015 from Kathi Heinrich, HR Manager, Bongrain Deutschland GmbH

The special thing: Anna's empathetic yet direct manner, her sensitivity to my problem situations and emotional world; the intensity of dealing with one's own conflicts/potential conflict cases; the time and space that was given to me and the other participants. It was a gift for me to be able to work with Anna that week. She is definitely an outstanding trainer for me. She perfectly guided us through the week, led us as a group (provided space and time, but also shortened at the right moments, took the next step, or made a point). The seminar confirmed that Janus is among the top training providers.

Feedback from Kerstin Arndt on the seminar Conflict Management with Jasmine Harde, Spring 2022

In response to the question of what remained after the euphoria shortly after the seminar, I would like to answer this way: I was not euphoric; it simply - once again - felt good… good for the moment, for the topics I brought along, and the situation I came from. Janus has accompanied me for almost 20 years, both methodically and personality-oriented - originally embarking on the goal of completing the coaching training, I decided over time to use what I learned, experienced, and felt as a treasure chest for my life path and not explicitly for a "new" profession. I am a loyal "follower"; my participations were often sponsored by my respective employer, frequently - like this time - borne by myself… for the first time following a private recommendation (from a coach trained by you), then it was already done for me :-) No matter where I emotionally traveled from - it has always been a lesson of a special kind… appreciative, reflecting on myself even more strongly than I already do. I attended seminars sometimes for a second (or even third?) time, years in between - and I will do it again; I am always at a different point in the flow of life and see and sense new things… and also familiar ones, some beautiful, some less beautiful… but always with a grown appreciation for myself. Or who likes to see themselves in conflict resolution as a "notorious grumbler"? Or realizes that some of my conflict resolutions are manipulative? To know that I act this way (or tend to), to understand the trigger within me - and to perceive both the effect on the partner and him/her as a person with their own needs, patterns, and triggers… there is no need for further arguments about "what" the seminar "Conflict Management" contributed. It has enriched not only me but also my environment was lucky to enjoy me not just unfiltered. Janus, the seminars, the trainers, the structure - I recommend it in my professional environment as well as to acquaintances and friends… although it simply also has to fit for the person in that moment, it finds its way. A thank you to you - from the heart, with joy and a laugh… you always make my sunny disposition shine, you are an anchor… and will remain so even with my increased seniority of rather 60 than 50 years ;-)
