Easy Learning with all the Senses

Ever since Janus was founded, we have been enriching our open seminars with elements of resource management. Our goal is to activate as many of your cognitive, physical, and creative resources as possible to support your learning. Our participants regularly report having unique experiences that were seamlessly integrated into the seminar flow—experiences they had almost without realizing it, in a playful and joyful manner.

Our attitude is deeply rooted within us, for good reason; it is also (and above all) reflected in our physical posture. It follows that a modification or reinforcement of our (inner) attitude has a tangible and visible effect on our body. And conversely: body awareness and changes in physical capabilities have a direct impact on inner attitude, self-awareness, and charisma.

Based on this insight—which is now well-established in neurobiology—we at Janus have integrated resource management from the very beginning and gradually refined it, so that today it is an integral part of all our personality seminars.

What is Resource Management?

Janus Resource Management is unique in the German-speaking world. As an integral part of every personal development seminar, it takes place in the morning and evening - and sometimes in between - but does not detract from the traditional seminar time, which focuses on the participants’ minds and emotions. It reinforces, supports, and anchors individual learning experiences on a physical level. It’s fun, expands your personal scope, and invites you to explore new experiences and push your boundaries.

During a Janus seminar, you’ll do things you’ve always wanted to try or finally want to do again (archery, martial arts, photography, bodywork, and breathing techniques).

Or you’ll have experiences you never thought you’d (willingly) have (improvisational theater, painting, artistic and playful expression). In any case, we’ll give you impulses that can positively influence your life and help ensure the sustainability of your steps toward change. Let yourself be surprised!

You Are What You Do

Or: Why Do So Many Personal Change Processes Fail?

Does this sound familiar? You’ve firmly resolved to stay completely calm during your next conversation with your “favorite conflict partner.” You’ve even prepared in advance, perhaps jotting down a few appropriate phrases… And you notice how your stress level rises with the very first sentence, and you fall back into your usual patterns of behavior. And that’s not all. After the conversation, you realize what you should have said instead, what arguments you could have made, and how you could have steered the conversation in the direction you wanted.

Resource Management in the Context of our Personality Seminars

Mindfulness and (show) playful Expression

with Sabine Bach-Frisch

“I go how I feel!” and I have a corresponding effect on others. True to this guiding principle, in this resource management course we focus on self-awareness and recognizing interactions in contact and (positive) interaction with others. Methods from the acting context and various areas of bodywork are used to playfully illuminate and change situations (including conflictual ones) from the participants' everyday lives and their own part in them.

Movement & Perception

with Eva Forler

When we think of “exercise”, we quickly think of sport, and therefore of competition and performance - higher, faster, further. That's not what this is about. As part of resource management, we explore what we need to be relaxed AND productive again. Each person receives feedback on their exercise routines and takes tips on self-management into their everyday business life - individually tailored to them.

Embodied Emotions

with Christian Bergmann

Through powerful tools and exercises from embodied voice work and contact improvisation, participants learn to pay attention to emotional tones, to sense different intensities of expression and to play with how much power (or weakness) emotions can have on and through the body. They gain experience of how much the physical experience can support them in giving their emotions a voice and in making and staying in contact with their counterpart.

Posture & Breath

with Eva Forler

How consciously do I deal with my most important management tool - my body? Accompanied by Eva Forler, we will explore the topic of movement in a creative and refreshing way with body and breath work in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening.
These encounters offer the opportunity to experience leadership and personal style in a very direct physical way: A gentle reset in mindflow!

improvisational theater

with Christiane Mudra

When improvising, participants learn in a playful and humorous way to better perceive their own impulses and those of their partners, to listen carefully, to use surprises as opportunities, to communicate constructively both verbally and non-verbally and to engage in communicative contact.

Self-organized Bodywork

In this unique setting, the participants organize and design their own body-oriented seminar program. Deciding on and conducting - more or less - challenging seminar units fuels and inspires the group process and enables additional insights and aha-experiences about personal impact and effectiveness in groups.

Seminar: Group Dynamics

Photography

with Christiane Hantzsch

In this resource management course, participants experience photography as an intensive means of personal expression and experience the echo of their own appearance when taking portraits of people. The unique and complex expression of personality is created in the interaction between the photographer and the person being photographed. As in the seminar, this is also about leadership and guided interaction, the story of which is told through the photos taken during the seminar.

Taiji-Qi-Gong

with Christian Bergmann

Taiji-Qi-Gong is a highly effective tool for centering, regenerating and refueling, which enables you to access the resources of your own strength. Participants develop a new inner and outer attitude. Calm and at peace with themselves, they learn to release their energy in a targeted manner. This experience can be recalled at any time and thus become an integral part of everyday working life.

Feedback from Barbara Wilcke, Commerzbank AG on the Janus special "Stress and Performance Management"

Dear Peter, dear Ralf, your seminar was for me the crowning conclusion of a series of methodological and personality-related Janus seminars. I had already briefly dealt with the topic of voice in the context of the seminar "Personality and Communication," and I was already familiar with Peter's body work from the resource management of a Janus seminar. Therefore, I was very curious about the design and content of the 3 ½ days. My expectations were far exceeded. Apart from the ideal location, we were the only seminar group in Inzell until the last day, and the predominantly good weather, it was simply great to have time for the individual exercises, which were supported by good theoretical explanations. I actually don't want to reveal the individual topics, but it was totally exciting to learn what one can do with a voice, how to do good things for it, and how to change a voice in a short time. The most moving moment for me was reciting poems and texts that everyone could choose from a large selection, and which 'as chance(?) would have it' were very suitable for everyone. The emotion and the emotionality were physically palpable. It was already exhausting to come out of that mood, but we had already learned how important it is to detach from something or to conclude it. The topics of body competencies and the 5-phase performance model were also very exciting and interesting, where Peter really excelled in his presentation. Between the individual topics, physical exercises provided relaxation, not to mention the morning body work that helped us start the day awake and alert. The experiences with balance training were also astonishing. After the first attempt, the band wobbled in all directions, I managed to stand still on it after 3 days without much support and without training. I or my body had literally learned it overnight. A valuable conclusion was the individual coaching sessions we received from both Ralf and Peter. During these, we could address very personal issues and gather feedback and tips that will certainly help us in everyday life. Thank you very much for the great experiences! Barbara
